Chinese Tourist ‘Strangled Hooker To Death In Pattaya’

A Chinese tourist was arrested last night for allegedly strangling a hooker to death because she wanted to go home after they had sex.

Police discovered the naked body of the woman in her 30s in an apartment in ‘Sin City’ red light resort of Pattaya, eastern Thailand, at around 11pm on October 4.

Her clothes had been removed and she was laid across a double bed at the Supalai Mare tower block.

Officers arrested the Chinese holidaymaker at a hospital near the scene where he had allegedly confessed to medics about the crime and was waiting to turn himself in.

The man, seen in the video in a green t-shirt, was taken back to the room. He told police that he had picked up the prostitute from the Walking Street area of strip clubs and bars before paying her for sex.

The suspect said he ”was angry” when they finished quickly and she wanted to leave.

He allegedly attacked her because he felt short-changed and wanted her to stay in the room for longer.

Police Colonel Atinan Nuchchanart said: ”The Thai woman asked to go home after they had sex but the Chinese man refused to let her go.

”They argued and he assaulted her, he said he strangled her until she was dead.”

The Far Eastern suspect told officers that he had paid the woman to have sex with him and took her back to his room.

Officers are now checking CCTV and contacting bars in the area to try and identify the victim.

Pol. Col. Nuchchanart added: ”The victim was found dead not wearing any clothes. She was aged between 30 and 35 years.

”There are signs from the initial examination of the scene that she had been dead for approximately five days.”

Officers said that the suspect had been in a state of distress and staff at the apartment block had reported that he had been talking about killing himself.

He was detained in custody but the police refused to reveal the name of the Chinese suspect.

Chinese tourists now account for the majority of all visitors to Thailand. In March this year, 57.5 per cent of arrivals were from China, with numbers expected to surge in the coming years.

The city of Pattaya, on Thailand’s east coast, has become known as the ”sex capital of the world” because of its notorious nightlife, bars, massage parlous, hookers and strip clubs.
