A drug-crazed husband butchered his wife and daughter to death as they walked home, neighbours believe.
Nafu Aunlae, 31, and daughter Patchalee Chabu, seven, were found earlier this week stabbed in forests near their home in the Chaiprakarn District of Chiang Mai.
Villagers said the husband Chapho Aulae, 33, was a known drug addict who regularly argued with his wife when he went on drugs rampages.
Nafu and her daughter regularly walked home through the forests, friends added.
Police are now searching for Aulae after he disappeared from the home.
Officers said the knife word in the woman’s back indicated an intent to stab her. But they believe the young girl was stabbed ‘by accident after intervening’, according to Chiang Mai City Life.
