Property boss Kazuo Okubo, 69, had been staying at a hotel in Khon Kaen, Thailand, when locals complained about a succession of young girls visiting him.
Officers investigated and allegedly caught the old man, who owns hotels in Japan, while a 17-year-old girl was being delivered to him on Monday August 5.
The girl allegedly told officers that she would receive 10,000 baht each time they had sex, which they then had to split with their pimps.
Police tracked down the two Thai suppliers at a nearby hotel and identified two more girls, aged 15 and 16, who said they had been paid to have sex with the Japanese businessman.
The Japanese man was arrested on suspicion of paying underage girls for sex and the and two Thai suppliers on suspicion of human trafficking
Police said that Kazuo Okubo was a businessman who owned hotel in Japan, but travelled to Thailand 15 times so far this year.
Immigration officer Liuetenant General Sompong Chingduang said: “According to the testimony by the two girls, the older man paid them for sex from April, 2018 to May, 2019.
“The Japanese man will be blacklisted and additionally be charged with having illegal sexual intercourse with minors.”
The police contacted the parents of the girls. They also handed the alleged victims over to social workers to try and deter them from the sex industry.
