Police were investigating after a young Thai ladyboy was found dead in a car that plunged into a river – half-naked on the back seat.
Anuchart Wuthitham, 27, was sprawled across the rear seat of a grey Honda when it skidded off the road and plunged into a ditch in Authaya, on Thursday afternoon.
She was wearing just a pair of black knickers and a crop top. There were no other people in the car.
Rescue workers pulled her from the wreckage and performed CPR but she was pronounced dead at scene.
Officers are now probing the mystery death after methamphetamine tablets, a police helmet and an army hat were also discovered in the car.
Lt. Gen. Wirawat Phanthawee, Deputy Inspector at the Lat Bua Luang Police Station in Ayutthaya Province, said: ”I received notification that a car had crashed into the canal and there was a victim inside.
”The body of Anuchart Wuthitham was on the back seat and covered in mud. She was just wearing a t-shirt and black underwear.
”In her shoulder bag were two amphetamine tablets, five books, one police cap, one military hat and one mobile phone.
”Initially we thought that the dead person may have driven at speed and crashed. But we cannot explain why she was on the back seat not wearing any trousers.
”The body has been sent to the Institute of Forensics and Thammasat Hospital to establish the cause of death.”
Rescue worker Anuchat Wuthin, 32, from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation, said he was the first on the scene.
He said: ”The deceased was stuck inside the car and we could not remove her. We used a trailer to tow the car out of the canal.
”I pumped the heart of the woman but she was already dead.”
