Police staged a bizarre reconstruction romping against a palm tree in the hunt for a couple who filmed themselves having s*x in a university campus.
Footage emerged at the weekend of a naked Western man and Thai woman having s*x next to a tennis court at the prestigious Kasetsart University in Bangkok, Thailand.
Further videos from the same couple showed them romping next to a motorway and stripping in a lift and apartment hallway.
Outraged locals complained to police who began hunting the pair on suspicion of breaking the country’s public indecency laws.
Uniformed cops even re-created the same position – taking a picture of themselves simulating s*x while holding onto the royal palm tree to demonstrate how the crime happened.
Investigators suspect the group, which they blamed on foreign influence corrupting the country’s morals, was making videos to order by customers online, where they can be bought for between 5usd and 15usd.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Sarawut Butrdee said officers will check CCTV from the top university to try and identify the pair.
They warned that the production team intends to shoot more films in public as “ordered by customers”.
The police chief added: “The video that has been spreading on the internet shows the couple’s bodies, which makes it easier for us to find them.
“Our investigation found that they had been filming several scenes of outdoor s*x and posting them on an adult video website for money.
“This behaviour is illegal and immoral. Publishing it breaks the Compueter Crime Act against publishing obscenity into the public domain.”
By law, people who perform lewd acts in public are subject to a maximum fine of 5,000 baht (127GBP).
The country’s vaguely-defined cyber crime laws are much broader and can be applied to anything involving a computer that authorities deem illegal with punishment including fines and jail terms.
