This is the moment a hero teenager dives to the bottom a filthy canal to rescue a tourist’s iPhone.
The boy named Nong Pom was near a group of Chinese tourists when a girl dropped her beloved iPhone 6 Plus into the waterway in Bangkok, Thailand.
Brave Nong ripped off his shirt, plunged into the polluted water and dived 8ft down to the bottom of the canal.
After one unsuccessful attempt to retrieve the device, he returns to the surface for air and to clear his eyes.
But after a second dive he returns clutching the valuable device – before handing it back to the relived holidaymaker.
Onlooker Tanin Oh recored the drama unfold and took pictures of the boy drying off the iPhone with a towel.
He said: ”The girl from China dropped her iPhone 6 Plus into the canal and was really upset.
”My friend jumped into the water to help her. He donut the iPhone and she was really happy. She gave him a 500th tip.”
The girl handed Nong Pom a reward of 500thb (10gbp) for retrieving her handset before she went home to dry it.
