Thai Man Killed By Out-of-Control Tuk Tuk On Sukhumvit Soi 10

A Thai man was killed after a tuk tuk carrying tourists lost control and ploughed into him outside a hotel on Sukhumvit Soi 10 this morning.

Chinawat Pilachai, 45, was sitting on a chair reading a newspaper when the three-wheeler’s front suspension snapped causing it to lose control.

The vehicle, ferrying two holidaymakers between their hotel and local attratcions, rammed into Chinawat killing him instantly outside the apartment block.

He was found lying on the ground after suffering horrific head injuries.

Two friend friends sitting next to him were injured while the tuk tuk driver Wanchai Nokkaew, 28, suffered minor injuries in the accident at 9.30am on the popular Sukhumvit Road in Bangkok, Thailand.

Volunteer rescue workers from the Ruamkatanya Foundation took the two tourists, who have not been named, to hospital along with the driver.

A spokesman said: ‘’The suspension on the front wheel snapped and the tricycle crashed into Chinawat Pilachai. He had a very bad head injury.

‘‘Wanchai was a taxi driver and he had been sitting outside the condominium block with two friends.

‘’The tuk tuk driver only had minor injuries and the two tourists were fine. They have all been taken to hospital and they will be interviewed by police.”
