Somchai should have spent a little more time preparing his rocket.
The launch in Yasothon province didn’t go to plan, and the device ended up billowing bursts of flame and smoke, facedown on the ground.
The launch was part of a traditional festival in the northeastern Yasothon province. It takes place every year. People fire homemade rockets into the air.
This device was stuffed full of gun powder and lit, and briefly started spinning before smoke engulfed its owners and it dropped to the ground.
The rocket’s builder, Kitti Pasuk, said: ”It took a long time to prepare the rocket. I’m so disappointed. I’ll repair it and try again next time.”
